I did a test with XPADNEO driver in RetroPie and the issue is completely resolved.Īlso note, when the Gamepad is in D-INPUT mode the delay issue is not present but Gamepad Rumble is no longer working in supported games. Since I still have RetroPie installed on an spare SSD the same issue is also present when starting a game with Gamepad in X-INPUT mode. It takes the same amount of time to get the Information screen and the Gamepad’s battery level only displays a “%” sign.

When a game is started there is a delay of about 40 seconds before the game starts and also the same delay is present when going to the main menu and selecting “Information”. As its the case for Debian and pretty much anything popular based on it, itd be xpad but from my very recent experiences xboxdrv seems better as long as theres only one player around (because I havent yet found a way to configure multiple controllers at a time, especially if those are one from the XB360 and one from the PS3 for example). i use wireless xbox 360 controllers and with both ive never gotten the 360 wireless pad working with kodi. the xboxdrv is a driver to use an Xbox controller with Ubuntu 14.04. I would especially be interested if anyone has any suggestions for xpad tweaks to improve ScummVM analog control. In Steam games (tested Metro Last Light, Dreamfall Chapters and Lethal League) the mapping is completly screwed. In jstest I get a consistent behaviour for all buttons and axis. I've tested them with xpad and xboxdrv yet.
XPAD VS XBOXDRV HOW TO
As far as I can tell it is a permission issue, but I do not see where and how to fix it. A friend sent me two Dualshock 3 (PS3) Controllers yesterday. There are three different xboxdrv packages available on aur and I tried all three with the exact same problem. Also I made sure to 'rmmod xpad' before trying to run xboxdrv.
It appears that there’s an issue with XBOXDRV getting the battery status from gamepads when they are in X-INPUT mode. The advanced controller mapping guide is excellent and very comprehensive for xboxdrv however the retropie wiki does seem to suggest xpad is the preferred and is even the default. I tried these rules seperately and together to no success. (Specifically testing Momodora : Reverie Under the Moonlight and Monolith.) I tried xpad and steamos-xpad in the AUR but neither of them have worked for me so Im trying to get xboxdrv working.
